Current Position:  Principal Assistant Curator – Department of Zoology, Entomology and Fisheries Sciences Museum

Personal Statement:  Dr Kityo is a Mammal Ecologist with particular interests in small mammals – bats, rodents and shrews. I however take broader interests in the full breadth of mammalian diversity in Uganda and also have strong interests in the diversity and ecology of other terrestrial animal groups in Uganda. At Makerere University I curate the teaching museum in my Department; I teach a number of undergraduate and graduate course and also mentor both levels of student for in ecological research. My core Research interest are in the areas of - Mammal Ecology - Mammal classification and biodiversity - Land-cover land-use change effects on mammals - Bats Acoustics - Bats ecology as it relates to viruses of potential human health importance. - Mammals in the Paleao-ecological environments of Uganda.
